O.C. isn't really the best place for any type of European food outside of Laguna Beach or Newport/South Coast. The area is more specialized in Asian, Latin American and Middle Eastern/Mediterranean.

If you don't mind the drive to Long Beach, check out La Parolaccia Osteria Italiana - excellent food, plus great place for a nice dinner date, or even Mother's Day.
Yep, the hole in the wall family owned Italian places have great food and Im picky about Italian. Cortinas, Mama Cozzas, Demecelis, Ginas etc...

Try Cucina Alessa in Huntington Beach, family owned and very authentic. Most popular Italian joint in Orange county.
