Hi OC!

I have just accepted an offer to work in Newport Beach and want some ideas as to where to live in OC. The plan is to rent and save up to buy a place in the area. Please offer any suggestions with pros and cons - I have looked into some areas and leaning towards Newport Beach itself, Irvine, Costa Mesa and maybe Huntington Beach. Appreciate it!

What I am looking for:
1) 20min max commute to work at Newport Beach
2) 2bed 2ba. Preferably 3bed 2ba. with a rental budget of max $2100
3) Great elementary school (two young daughters about to enter Kindergarten)
4) Great place to raise a young family

Thanks,
S

Any of those cities will work, although for your budget, you will be in a rather small apartment for a family. Something in the 1100 sqft. range. A larger (1600+sqft) 3 bedroom SFH in the Irvine or Newport area will be real close to a million, so you will be saving for awhile! Cant speak too much on the schools though. If you can increase your drive time and move further inland, you will save yourself quite a bit of money.
