I saw this cool aerial video on the "I Love Newport Beach" Facebook page that my wife insists on showing me just about every day.

Apparently it was shot by a remote control helicopter. I'm working on convincing my wife that we need one of them.

Here's an aerial I took a couple years ago. It was on a flight into Orange County. Because the Santa Ana's were blowing that day, we had to circle around and come in from over Newport instead of the normal approach that roughly follows the 55 freeway.

The plane was over Lake Forest but looking up into Irvine. You can see the Spectrum towards the lower right, the towers at Pacifica, and the 133/5 junction.

Nice shot. I'm always afraid to take pictures on a plane just in case a flight attendant gets pissed.

I think I can see the Doubletree hotel we stayed at when my wife was interviewing for her job here. While she was at the interview, I drove down the scenic 133 road to Laguna Beach which made me even more anxious for her to get the job.

I like this video. Its pretty amazing what you can do with a go-pro and a remote control drone.

Congrats!

Our amazement of SoCal hasn't worn off yet.

My wife still says "I can't believe we live here" on a regular basis.
