LOL. no. It doesn't even come close to the variety in terms of dancing, types of bars and crowds that DTF has. DTF on a Friday or Saturday night makes Huntington Beach feel like a sleepy city in comparison.

I say this as someone that doesn't really care for either scene. I mean, it's like choosing between drunk bros (HB) or wasted college kids (Fullerton). To be fair, both places have much more to offer despite the type of people that frequent them. Happy hour in either of them is a great bet...with HB having the benefit that you can catch an ocean sunset afterwards/before hand.

We all know you prefer dirty north OC with all the illegals, low income Welfare families of 27, gangbangers and garbage, so thats ok. Your opinion. Fullerton is a joke, thats my opinion.

Huntington Beach is also North O.C. (fact, not an opinion), therefore I am comparing two North O.C. cities (fact, not an opinion). Fullerton attracts a young diverse college aged crowd (fact, not opinion - Fullerton College, Cypress College and Cal State Fullerton being the main feeders), not exactly illegal central.

Nice try with that detractor, but major fail.

You are correct! My bad. However, you thinking Fullerton night life is better than HB is your opinion, and probably not a popular one. I bet if you put that to a vote, HB would win and win easily.

Bonus round, Douchiest/Bro Central: Huntington Beach
lol! Very true, but I still like it.

As for Orange, I lived there for a decade and liked it. But it tends to attract older people with all the antique stores. I think they need to diversify a bit and get a different type of retail. Eventually, they'll probably have to. I think "antiquing" is more of a Baby Boomer and older activity.

Santa Ana surprised me last December when we were there. Decent bars and restaurants downtown.

As opposed to the beige cookie cutter/strip mall/chain restaurant/fakeness of South OC? (Isn't stereotyping fun?)

Heh, true, it is subjective. My opinion is based on numbers (as in which place gets more crowded on a weekend ---> Fullerton) and variety of establishments (craft beer bars, lounges, dance clubs, music scene ---> Fullerton). Having that said, there are people for whom 'better' might mean less crowded, or maybe they prefer a concentration of upscale lounges (like in Santa Monica), or divey bars (like Long Beach or Silver Lake). Or maybe their idea of better is places where fashion translates to caps, shorts, vans and and shirts that read 'Hurley' or 'Cali' - then yeah, Huntington Beach totally wins.

All stereotypes aside.

Tuesday nights - Huntington Beach is awesome due to Surf City Nights.
Thursday nights - Fullerton, very relaxed, not too crowded/overrun with kids puking in thrash cans.
Friday and Saturday nights I would avoid both if possible.

Yeah, and they keep opening up new places. There is a slew of cool restaurants and bars opening up this year. (Cismontane Brew Co To Open Tap Room in Santa Ana; Native Son Alehouse to Open in Downtown | OC Weekly) There is also a brewery that was just approved by the city council, due to open by 2015. (Budding entrepreneur sees suds in Santa Ana's future - The Orange County Register ; their blog - THE GOOD BEER COMPANY ) I recommend hitting up the First Saturday Art Walk if you are ever down here around that time.

North OC has WAY more cookie cutter/strip mall/chain restaurants than South OC and Ill take "fakeness" over illegals and gangbangers any day
