Incorrect, its about even with Dana Point on average. All you have to do is type in "Average weather in..." followed by the city and the first link that pops up takes you to Weather.com and a graph showing average temps. Yes, its that simple

Average Weather for Aliso Viejo, CA - Temperature and Precipitation
Average Weather for Dana Point, CA - Temperature and Precipitation

They must have build the weather stations in Aliso Viejo under the shade. There is no way Aliso is as cool as a beach town like Dana Point.

Fwiw, my house temp reading is 79, but weather.com has LN at 78 and is says Aliso is 88. Can anyone in Aliso confirm?

Hmmm, looking at the day to day for last month, it shows identical numbers for both AV and DP. Not sure how accurate that is.

I always chuckle a bit when I see posts/arguments about weather here in Orange County. Sure, inland OC will be warmer than the coastal cities, but I would never say it gets "hot"! You guys are arguing over a difference of a few degrees?

I was born and raised in California's Central Valley, where late May through September was an oven with highs frequently over 100 degrees. OC weather is heaven compared to that!

Well, I'm a proverbial pansy from right on the coast (in an area with a cooling ocean eddy, to boot) so I cringe at the thought of any temperature increase. But financial considerations will eventually necessitate a move further inland, so I'm trying to weigh my options. Maybe that will tell you about my motivations in starting this thread.

We live in Aliso Viejo and have noticed the difference in breezes (or lack of) depending on where you are in the city. We love to go to the beach in Dana Point. It is not uncommon in the summer for us to look at the external temperature reading on our car when leaving the harbor area and note that the temperature is approx. 10 degrees higher once we get home. We live on the north side of the 73 and have heard that this area is blocked from the breezes that come up the canyons from the ocean. I would say Mission Viejo (at least parts of it) are even warmer than our house. It all depends on the terrain and the canyons that lead out from the ocean (or not).

I'm waiting for over 80 degree temperature readings here in Laguna Niguel as I love to swim and love summer. I have not seen near 80 all week. I did see that last weekend. It certainly is not hot in Laguna Niguel. It has been very humid lately, however.

Yeah, I lived in Orange for a decade and every now and then people would ask me, "how can you stand the heat so far inland?" I think the average highs this time of year is 83/84. That's not very hot. I lived in Redlands for a couple years for college where it's in the upper 90s in July on average.
