Can anyone recommend any good breakfast spots in north OC? I've been to the Hungry Bear Diner in Fullerton (great French toast) and Flappy Jack's Pancake House in Orange, which was also pretty good.

Any other recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks!

There used to be a diner on PCH in Sunset Beach.

Ah, here it is, Woody's Diner. Looks like they're still there, and still getting good reviews (4 out of 5 stars, 50 reviews).

I know these are (small) chains, but The Original Pancake House in Yorba Linda and Bruxie in Brea are pretty good options.

Arthurs on Tustin Ave in Orange has some great breakfasts. I think fruit pancakes is one specailty (Banana among others).

For basic fare with a great atmosphere - Watsons in Orange. Slightly better food in a diner style atmosphere is Pops Cafe in Santa Ana, go on a reasonably nice day and sit out ont he sidewalk. Inside is a bit cramped.

Orange Cafe or Orange Grill I forget which (not the one in downtown orange, but out near tustin and Katella (not at tustin and Katella, but in tat genearl vicinity, is on a smaller street off of Tustin).

Plums in Costa Mesa. I don't live in SoCal anymore, but when I am down there, it's one of my first stops.

Meh. Okay food. Is the one in YL always packed? The one in Aliso is always a scene.

Yeah, it's pretty much always busy in the mornings. I'm a fan of their dutch baby, or whatever it's called...

Another North OC joint just popped in my head: Green Bliss (good pastries, coffee, and paninis) in Fullerton

Early Bird Cafe (kinda new) in Fullerton off of Brea and Bastanchury, and Rialto Cafe in Fullerton (I think it's off Wilshire in Downtown) have good breakfast as well.

These are more "hip" places with smaller portions so YMMV.

Kimmie's Coffee Cup. There's one in Brea and Anaheim (near Placentia).
