I am a sales representative for one of the four biggest mobile phone carriers in America with about 5 years of experience. My wife is an Industrial Quality Engineer with about 2 years experience working on the medical devices industry, we are currently living in Puerto Rico and the job/economic/criminality crisis in the island is unsustainable. We have heard that California is a great place for the medical devices industry. Searching the Internet, Aliso Viejo looks very attractive to us.

My wife applied to some job posts with no luck (I guess it is because probably there are local candidates applying too). For me may be a chance to request my employer a tranfer to a store there. We are 25 and 29 with no kids and we have about $45k in savings and I was wondering if it would be easier to relocate first and then find a job, please help!

there is no harm in trying to relocate first. you are young with no kids and savings to start anew, what are you waiting for?

Yes, you should move here (general area) first if you want to find job, because you are competing against OC candidates who have a real advantage with "geographical desirability."

You are definitely in a favorable position since you have savings and no kids. I would suggest that you get a basic one bedroom in a safe area and stay there until you have both secured good jobs.

BTW, once here, don't forget to join your local (OC) trade/professional organizations to help with networking and job leads.

Also, your wife should start the application process to eventually get a CA professional license in her field:
