My wife and I are currently trying to figure out the best and most affordable way to live in OC. We feel like renting is the way to go due to high cost of HOA's in condo communities. We have lived there before but only ever had 2 dogs. We've added one since we left the state and our total stands at 3 and now we are looking into moving back. All dogs are under 30 lbs but has anyone ever seen an apartment complex that allows 3 dogs? Any help or advice would be helpful.

I strongly suspect you'll have to rent a house. Realistically, what landlord or property manager of a unit do you think would permit three dogs?

Even renting a house is a tough proposition with three dogs. I suspect maybe one in four homeowners would be willing to rent to a tenant with three dogs. It may be unfair, but I think the perception is that the house would get trashed. I always had challenges back in my rental days with two big dogs.

Any place that you may find will likely require a huge non-refundable pet deposit and non-refundable monthly pet rent. Good luck.
