Don't get me wrong, I loved it and it'll always be "home", but after moving to OR, I can't go back. If I do, it won't be by choice. However, I do miss the beach and sunsets over the ocean. Oh, and good ethnic foods. One more, and my income. Haha.
What part of OR? I lived in Tigard for a year and a half, loved it. Just rained too much for me.

But, that doesn't mean I like it here. In fact, I rather hate it. People in the 80's and 90's must have really had the living "urine" scared out of them in LA because what they're paying to live in the suburbs is just mindblowing compared to what suburbs cost everyplace else in the world...

But, on the other hand, nobody else would give me a job so who am I to complain? Looks like me and California are stuck with each other...But to answer the question, yes, if I got a job back east, I'd be out of here in a split second. I don't give two craps about the beach, the sunshine, or the sunsets. Give me snow, 4pm nightfalls, and thick Boston fog any day.
You could just turn off your lights in your place and max the AC.

If I had the time to study for the attorney's part of the bar exam, passed it, and could find a job in OC and afford a house just off PCH in Huntington Beach, I would consider making the move. I've taken many vacations in Huntington and just love the place.

Long ago, I sat for that BE and I was not aware that there was a non attorney BE.

If you're licensed attorney in another state (I'm licensed in CO, NY and OK), you don't have to take the full CA bar exam. I believe you just take the essay part and the performance part over a 2 day period.

I'm in Hillsboro now. I just love it here! I love the rain, the cold, the clouds. Things SoCal has little of. But as I tell people, I had 40 years of sunshine and perfect weather, I'm ready for a change.

I'm in OC for 8 hours every day...but I get to go back home to Whittier.

I don't think I'll ever leave so cal. It's home. I grew up here and despite its faults (literally and figuratively; I actually don't mind earthquakes) I love it.

Other places have their positives and negatives. And if I were ever to strike it rich I would be lying if I didn't want to live somewhere like France or England for a bit...but I'd always want to return.

It's amazing how rude people are in the LA area, just a very self absorbed culture. I was in Atlanta in Jan and was hiking up stone mountain and I was amazed at how many people greeted me and even randomly talked to me. I had to adjust to that a bit as when I usually hike around here in Orange county nobody says Hi, infact some of them don't even respond when you greet them!

I live very close to the ocean in an amazing beach town, so I would not leave. People are friendly; unlike other beach towns, it's not crowded; and it's incredibly beautiful. However, if I lived inland or in less desirable areas of OC, I might opt to move somewhere else, perhaps No Cal or Washington State or Colorado.
