I meant to post a new thread in the Orange County Forum, but instead dropped it in the California General forum. Please take a look and offer and advise you can on my decision between Southern California and Boston. Here is the link: //www.city-data.com/forum/calif...alifornia.html

Southern California has terrible weather. It NEVER snows. In the fall and winter, we have Santa Ana winds every 1.5-2 weeks which drop the humidity to 10% or under and raises the temperature to 85 degrees in THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. Plus, enjoy getting tonnes of trash piling up in your backyard and all your trees blown down by 70-mph gusts as well as cracked skin everywhere.

In the summer, expect NO RAIN, 20% humidity, NO CLOUDS, NO BREEZE, but INTENSE, oppressive sunlight. This year, we had our record of 113 degrees. Boston's record high was 104. In other words, be prepared for Death Valley-like heat.

If you're looking for four seasons, forget it. If you're looking for 55 degrees with rain and 80% humidity and 80 degrees the next day with 40 mile per hour winds and 10% humidity the next, this is the place.

I liked Hong Kong's climate much better, even though it was 90 degrees at 96% humidity. Some days, we had hundred percent humidity at a hundred degrees.

I have never on this forum read any post so ridiculous and skewed as this one. Please return to wherever you came from.

You know nothing of which you speak

Humidity? What humidity? 115 degrees. In irvine. When. Please post a Linley

Santa Ana winds come only several days a year.

Yeah. In Boston or Minnesota where it is brutally cold and snowy 4 months of the year. Cept this past year of course

No humidity in sc to speak of. Ocean on one side 2 hours to snow. 2 hours to beautiful desert resorts

If this isn,t about as close to the promised land. Weater wise. Then there isn,t one

Btw. Weather records for entire year 2011 show no day where temp was over 94. Please advise when it was 113.

And to complain about no snow ? Perhaps you don.
,t know your are living in nearly a desert

Again. Please do yourself a favor and return to snow humidity and 300 days a year of sunshine.

Or stop complaining.

Nurserosie, when someone digs up a response-free 4-year-old topic only to parrot the same stuff they post elsewhere, you can safely assume they're a "t" word and not worth your time.
