I have heard there are places in Orange County California for the homeless to sleep where the police turn a blind eye. A place for those with no vehicle and where they are not hassled. I have also heard that some city parks and church parking lots offer a place for the homeless to sleep as long as they leave by a specific time each morning. I would like I to know if anyone can verify this and let know where they are.

Santa Ana most likely. Some areas of Garden Grove and Anaheim. I've seen some homeless in HB. Trash diggers in Newport Beach. But most cities PDs will roust and tell homeless to move on

along S. Anaheim Ave, between N State College Blvd and E Orangewood, is fenced vacant lot and I always see this man on his sleeping bag on the curb (not paved) every morning while Im on my way to the office. maybe the Anaheim police don't ever pass by this road so they never bother him.

lol nope.

The only area you won't bother anyone is down in Civic Center next to the library. Anywhere else and you will get people calling the police.

There are homeless people in many places in OC and I hardly think we should post the names of those places here as those places are already full of homeless people. I might also add that many of the homeless who do not have a vehicle seem to be mentally troubled/users. These folks are definitely making some of these places, which I like and frequent (one in particular), less desirable. They park themselves in the busiest spots to beg, smoke in public (I really hate cigarette smoke) where people eat, sleep in public, are often intimidating, and have terrible hygiene.

If people are mentally ill, however, then the state ought to care for them. Other than that, sorry, no sympathy from me.

I see about 10 or so as I ride from the river jetties to Warner along the beach to work. I see lots of the same ones when I ride home at night... Never used to be like this.
