What a great family event. We got there right at 11:00 when it opened, and the crowds were just starting to roll in.

Tustin PD was there with a bunch of really interesting and interactive displays, as was OC Fire, CHP, Irvine PD and the US Army. I even got to eat a lasagna MRE (it was actually pretty good).

All of them did a really good job of interacting with the public, especially the kids.

In addition to the static displays, the Tustin PD motorcycle officers put on a precision riding display, followed by the K-9 units taking down a "bad guy", followed by SWAT complete with flash-bang grenades.

We even got a tour of the Police department, including the holding cells. They have a "Citizens Police Academy" starting soon, so if you want to see how one of the best PD's in OC works, give them a call.

I asked them if I would be able to Taser a hobo, but they said no

How cool is that! I wish more departments would hold those. Great idea.

Nice, take a bite from one of the dogs sometime. Years ago when I was in training they would give us a bite sleeve and unleash the German Shepherd on us. It was a rite of passage.
