I'm confused, aren't you the OP that was asking questions about AH? YL is right next door.

No, that was someone different.

Thanks for all of your help everyone!

To the person that asked, I was just out there for 5 days actually--scoping different areas out. I had kinda written Anaheim off because of bad schools and crime stats so I didn't bother looking. It wasn't until I had flown home that I noticed Anaheim Hills on the map. Same with Orange. I didn't really look at Orange because I kept reading that it had bad schools. But east Orange, just below Anaheim Hills, has great schools and seems pretty nice.

So now I'm stuck here surfing the web for info

It is confusing because their user names are so similar looking. lol I had the same thought.

O.P. I'm not sure how much you'll save in AH compared to Irvine. But is there something you need to be close to or do you have the freedom to move around a bit? There are better areas that work for a large family.

Thanks for the info.

We are looking at renting right now and can get more for our money in AH and East Orange than in Irvine. Even Yorba Linda is cheaper.

Other areas we have looked at are Thousand Oaks/Simi Valley and Valencia.

The job is downtown LA...I know, ridiculous commute. Looking for great schools, safe city, at least 4 bedrooms and under 3500......Hard to find anywhere close to LA.

You are much better off living in Torrance (good schools, beach weather) and take the Silver line bus to downtown.

when we were looking for a condo/house to buy last year, we went looking at AH. we thought all the people living there were driving german cars. ( a very lousy way to gauge whether AH is affordable or not) we saw a lot of Hondas and Toyotas and we thought we can live here and not feel out of place.

we ended up buying at Portola hills
