I'm planning a move to Huntington Beach in the next 6 months, and I'm looking for a quiet area, but within a mile or 2 of the beach.

I checked a couple of apartment hunting sites, and saw a place on Brookhurst Ave, about 1 mile from PCH. It's between Hamilton and Banning. I drove by and it looked nice and well maintained.

Is it one of the louder, more party oriented areas?

Thats a bit of an oxymoron. HB is the biggest party beach in OC. Your chances of finding a quiet area anywhere close to it is very slim. Apartment complexes in OC are generally not quiet to begin with. The only ones Ive ever been to that were more low key were some senior apartments and a couple in Newport Beach with $4k 2 bedrooms. Less expensive complexes are going to generally draw people who really don't care about their neighbors. Try to find the smallest complex you can and the most expensive you can afford.

Good point, I guess my question is that part of HB quieter than other parts of HB.

Most residential areas are quieter. Apartments simply due to the structure and the fact you're arranging people to live next to and on top of one another are noisier. Lots of people with very varying degrees of scheules and social skills make for a noisy environment. When I had applicants that lived in apartments their biggest reason for wanting to move (when asked) was noise complaints.
You would be better off in a townhouse or SFR of you want quiet.

What are you talking about? I live near the harbour and less than a mile to Bolsa Chica Beach, there are plenty of apartments here under 2K and it is very quiet with plenty of dining amenities within walking distance.

Talking about Main street and the pier, not Bolsa Chica. Between Goldenwest and Beach is where 90% of people going to HB go, you should know that. Bolsa Chica is mostly families with motor homes, not party types. Having said that, please share the names of all these cheap, quiet apartments in HB less than a mile to the beach. Im sure the OP and many others would love to hear it.

Obviously cheap and quiet means different things to different people. I've lived in urban areas for 25 years. When I stay in a really rural area, it's too quiet and I can't sleep. I currently live in 2 blocks from Hollywood and Highland and I'm surprised how quiet it is.

All I did was drive by, I didn't make an appointment to go inside. My concern is loud parties - if the people above have 20 people in their 2 bedroom apartment and the music is blaring at 2 am, it's a concern.

Thats reasonable. However, two things. First, LB is not in OC, thats LA county. Im assuming you meant HB not LB. Second, the reviews on the apartments you posted are awful. Id avoid it. Its the place that was just on the news with 26 units having collapsed roofs lol

Yes, I meant HB, not Long Beach.

Those reviews definitely give pause!

FYI, there are couple rental Apts around Brookhust/Hamilton. Look around and search more.
I live around this area(SEHB). It is bordered Santa Ana river whith Costa Mesa and Newport Beach in the other side of the river.

I can not comment on rental Apts, since I never live there.

SEHB is one of the nice area on OC. It is quiet and almost rural like.
7 supermarkets within couple miles compete for your money.
If you want party, beach is less than one mile. HB main street and NB are close by.

If you like wild untouch, Santa Ana river preserve is across the river.
There is also a restrict preserve on the beach/Santa Ana river mouth.
The weather is perfect here. My son wear shot all year long.

Con.
It will take 5 miles drive to 405 and 2+ miles drive to 55.
Beach is crowded in the summer.
Cloudy in the morning half of the year.

Other questions, be specific.
