San Clemente? Santiago Canyon College is probably the closest, but a community college.

edit: i'm an idiot

UCI is closeby and is a major college.

Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo is the closest one to San Clemente. University of California Irvine is the closest 4 year university.

Irvine Valley College is a very good community college as well. I believe Concordia is also in Irvine. South from San Clemente you will find Palomar College inland from Oceanside.
