Not if the city council want to keep their positions... The last election was a social media slug fest

Remember that each California city has mandates with respect to subsidized housing (affordable housing) and as such, HB must comply or be deprived of state funds.

The city council is very aware of the power of the social media, since most of them used twitter and facebook robustly during their campaigns.

Since when? There is nowhere to build wider streets. And the reclamation and power consumption need to be upgraded. I have noticed Beach is so much more busy than it used to be. You can't add 4-5000 more people and not notice it. You're dreaming bud.

The nly place to go is up if you want to bring in people.

As far as I know there are 6 high rise apartment buildings
One down Beach about two miles from the pch. It's where the o,d police impound is by the Star real estate black building
One on Beach Bl across from 5 Points
One right by DeLillo Chevy (used to be a office building and the old Captain Jacks Restaurant)
Three right by Bella Terra (old Huntington Mall)
New Hotel being built next to Arby's on Beach and 405
And they tore out the Lamps Plus and I'm not sure what's going there.

Do you live in HB? Have you seen the Traffic Cluster F around Bella Terra or Ellis and Beach? the Pacific City Project on PCH is already causing major traffic problems, and it is only half way open (and just wait till the summer)

You talking about the one by the Hyatt on PCH? Traffic is crazy. I have a few customers in HB. I made the mistake of getting off on beach south off the 405 n my way from another job in LA. All I had to do was go from Beach/405 to Beach/Warner. Holy god. The off ramp that takes you off on the backside of Bella Terra is now way too inadequate for the amount of traffic count and going off. So i simply don't see how they will have the space to accommodate the high density building occupancy. It can be done but you're talking major road reconstruction and bags full of money.

Now talk about sewer, electrical, additional water consumption, pollution, crime not to mention additional environmental impact.

See, you don't understand. Stopping the construction of new units will not stop people from moving into Orange County. The people are coming, they have always been coming into OC.

The argument is whether you provide equitable housing choices or you allow prices to reach astronomical levels.

My commute is already long enough. Unless they have a way to ease congestion let rents go up. The area CANNOT support anymore people. It's already overcrowded
