I think there are some nice ones in Irvine but I'm not sure where to look. I usually like to walk for about an hour and I'm in Aliso Viejo but I don't mind driving for 10-15 minutes to get to a nice one if necesary Any recommendations. Thanks again everyone! I've been in AV for 3 days but I'm lovin' it so far!

If you want to see action, go down to Newport Beach and get on the boardwalk. It goes for several miles along the beach and there are lotts of people walking, running, biking, & skating along each way. Especially in the summer, it's great people watching, to get sun and enjoy the beach. OR another beautiful walking/ running/biking area is the Back Bay. Back Bay Road goes around the Back Bay in Newport (Jamboree Road) and offers GORGEOUS views of the nature preserve, all kinds of birds and it is quiet and beautiful.

Aliso Woods Canyon is right in your backyard. Park in the lot at Aliso Creek Road and Alicia Parkway by the Mormon Church. It is a spectacular nature area and you feel miles from civilization. The trails are all dirt though. The main one is very wide though. Saturdays the park is full of bikers. Lots of wildlife and the rain has made the whole park green.

the tide pools near Laguna are great to walk along. there are great wilderness trails at Siverado Canyon. Holy Jim is a really nice easy short hike. red Rock Canyon is neat once you get off the bike trails and onto the footpaths.

For trail information contact the county. They have a trails department and the people are very knowledgeable. Jeff, is a really nice trail guy, but very very busy.
