So finally we are moving to Lake Forest. This is a question to everyone out there.

As a first time home owner, I am a bit confused what to do.

We already have an account with Irvine Ranch Water District should I just transfer the service to LF?

http://www.lakeforestca.gov/444/Water-Sewer-Services
On the LF page I see IRWD listed and 2 other water provider.

With electricity and gas I just transferred... so I am a bit confused about what to do here.. Please suggest.

Will I get a rebate if I choose LF water provider ?

Thanks

I don't know about the situation where you are, but in Sacramento (as an example), there are two water/sewer utilities. The one that's a public one is much cheaper than the private one. I know people who have moved across town just to get into the cheaper util. district, so I mention that in case it might be applicable to your situation. You might look into it.

I can tell you for a fact that I just finished working on a BRAND NEW state of the art water treatment plant in Lake a Forest. It's literally coming online in the next few months.

Is Lake Forest also Toilet-to-Tap? If so, it may be worth paying extra to get cleaner water.

OMG! I am super confused now.

So when did this is toilet to tap water being?? jeez I never knew

@electrician4you- Good recommendation. I need water running by the end of Nov.

I looked everywhere to find out if water provider is a public or a private owned- didn't find a satisfying answer. Anyone living in LF please help me with these questions.

I am thinking go with a public water provider and get bottled water delivered...?? Anyone who do this?

Again I dont want to be spending $100 on water.

I've never had a water bill at $100 a month. My billing was every two months. About $50. 1700 sq ft and two people. Daily showering 2x for me laundry, cooking, dish washing

You're probably in the El Toro Water District, not Irvine.

And we always have had bottled water delivered for drinking.

Where your house is located in Lake Forest will determine which water district you have, you don't get to choose. We are located on the lake and we have Irvine Ranch Water District.
