Any recommendations for a good and honest auto mechanic shop in Irvine/Tustin area? Want to get this forum members experience more than yelp.

This is for a Honda Odyssey. Crossed the warranty period and dont want to spend a lot for dealer service.

Thanks

I don't know if it is too far for you, but if you are wiling to travel down to Aliso Viejo when you need repairs, not just a simple oil change, then I would highly recommend:

Mission Auto Service
27802 Aliso Creek Road, Suite D-120
Aliso Viejo 92656
949-360-0775

They're honest and competent.

Our shop uses this gas station on Lincoln and Tustin Ave. It's called Brad's Valero.

If it is just for an oil change for your Odyssey, I would recommend to search for other dealerships oil change coupon and let your nearest dealer match the price. That is what I do. An oil change and car wash for $25-30 is not too bad IMHO. If you go this route, OC Honda World seems to be on the lower side with oil change coupons. Last year, there were $19.95.

If you are looking for an honest, good mechanic, I would suggest Moyer's Automotive Repair in Santa Ana.
Here is the address:
2040 S Grand Ave
Santa Ana, CA 92705

Frank specializes in Japanese vehicles. I heard a clunky noise in my front passenger side of my 2011 Pilot. I called Frank and told him I need to replace my struts. He said with 45k on the car, it shouldn't need new struts, may be bad bushings. He said to bring in the car to inspect. He inspected and sure enough it was the strut blown, but at least he wanted to inspect to confirm before just changing parts like some mechanics would do.
