Why would you want to leave? The coastal area from San Clemente to Newport Beach is one of the best slices of Earth on the planet.

During the Summer if you want to drive through town it is a mess. There are side streets that allow some movement, but unless you want to stay in your house, traffic will be a problem and not just during rush hour.

The whole area is great and I love it. BUT Laguna Beach is between San Clemente and Newport Beach and divides the Coast hwy and traffic through Laguna, especially during the Summer is a mess. Nothing to do with the area it is the congestion caused by the 2 roads that allow anyone to come into or leave Laguna.

Yeah, all of those Inland Empire residents and San Berdoos clogging up our beaches.

Yeah, but 909ers is sometimes used as gang language. I'm trying to be decent here.

Re traffic: I ride a motorcycle and ride quite safe and slow, especially in traffic and when lane splitting. Do people hate lane splitters or is it more of a common thing to see in Cali?

It's both common and legal. I would suggest a trip down to Orange County to see which city appeals to you.

I've booked an AirBnB for my first month there in Huntington, though by all accounts that probably won't be the most ideal place to stay according to some of you. I figure I'd use my time to acclimate and search for the sweet spot in the county.

How's Anaheim? Touristy? Crowded?

They hate people who use Cali not CA or California.
