they should. these people don't work anyway so why don't just build a community for them far from civilization, say in CA City? or in Slab City? and station sheriffs and social workers there to make sure they don't harm themselves

The California "progressives" offers free services to the homeless so they are coming from out of state. No different than leaving food out for stray cats. Soon they will all be meowing outside your door.

Something like that has been suggested. Certain posters in this thread compared it to "nazi concentration camps".

if they don't have mental problems, they will try to get out from "that shelter".

those living in slab city seems to be happy with their situation.

they should find a way to distinguish those who have fallen in hard times, just like the family who was sued by the county of san Bernardino for "being poor" and those who are really bums

And certain posters claimed that only ONE person ever said that, whom he labeled a probable troll.

Here is my solution. All the cities on the west coast go in on renting an ocean liner. Dock at each port offering Free tropical Vacations! Float them all down to south America and sail away in the middle of the night while the bums are on shore leave.

For me personally, I live rural. And my place is 8 miles off of highway 101 or I 5, major migration routes of west coast bums. In addition, the small fishing village near here, population1190, the cops move them along. No camping allowed, "We don't have services". Its ideal.

But you see, rural communities tend to be hard working folk who don't take kindly to hand out seekers.

Not so much the closer you get to the coast. Everyone is a bleeding heart when it's someone else paying.

Supervisor Bartlet, you liar. You voted for it. WE WILL REMEMBER. WE ARE ORGANIZED AND WE WILL NOT FORGET.

We also know what you did to San Clemente, sending them your human refuse from Anaheim to stay in motels and terrorizing people in San Clemente.

RECALL.

From the liar this evening...

Supervisor Lisa Bartlett Opposes Laguna Niguel Temporary Homeless Shelter

On March 19, 2018, the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted to direct staff to look into the feasibility and develop operational plans for emergency shelters in Irvine, Huntington Beach, and Laguna Niguel.

I am OPPOSED to relocating homeless individuals to a vacant property in Laguna Niguel. It has always been my vision to develop a beautiful downtown center with retail, restaurants, homes, and a community center. This is a vision which is still being actively pursued with the City’s cooperation. The Laguna Niguel site does not adequately address public safety concerns.

I have spent a considerable amount of time listening to my Laguna Niguel constituents and members of the City Council. I am committed to fixing this problem, and going forward I pledge to Laguna Niguel residents:

There will be NO homeless people relocated to the Laguna Niguel site near the City Hall.
I have confirmed a meeting with Federal Judge David Carter, seeking judicial relief on all relocation sites, including Laguna Niguel, Huntington Beach, and Irvine.
Supervisor Steel and I will request that the Orange County Board of Supervisors reconsider all homeless shelter siting at the March 27 Board meeting.
Orange County is facing a homelessness crisis of epic proportions. For years I have supported the creation of permanent supportive housing because it is the necessary long-term solution to homelessness. There are no easy answers to address our immediate need to respond to this crisis situation. In my haste, I supported an ill-conceived proposal that I now realize is distracting us from our real focus – building permanent supportive housing across Orange County in collaboration with cities.

I have a proven track record on public safety and working to solve the County's homeless crisis. There is a significant amount of confusion and concerns about how and why we got here, but I am 100% committed to fixing this issue.

Sincerely,
Lisa Bartlett - Supervisor, Fifth District
LISA BARTLETT
OC Supervisor, Fifth District

The Chino Hills State Park north of Yorba Linda is maybe 10 miles x 4 miles. It would be relatively easy to dedicate 1 square mile or 600-800 acres to the unwashed masses.
Bring in tools and building materials so they can dig their own latrines and dig a ditch for the connection to the closest water main. There are some men with construction experience so they can build their own showers and toilets. Let them build it and maintain it and provide self-policing and security for everyone in the territory.
Provide a free bus line, four times a day for the very few to look for work in nearby cities.
They already have the tents and bicycles.
Put up a huge sign: Please don't feed the wildlife or the homeless because it destroys their ability to survive without a handout.
Provide a free ride to anyone sleeping on the street, once, and punish them severely if they get caught loitering again on private or public property where camping isn't allowed.

One more thing: whoever thinks that capitalism is a failure should spend a week in Venezuela to experience the success of socialism.
