A few reasons mentioned:

I lived in Oregon when I was younger and currently live in Seattle. The amount of people I've met over the years that are so-cal transplants is pretty crazy.

I hate to say it, but the the top reasons these people left southern CA would be

#1 Brown people
#2 Brown people
#3 Brown people
#4 Brown people
#5 Brown people

A lot of these people are racists and don't even know it. As a brown person, I've never really taken offense. I wouldn't want to live there anymore either. lol

This is nonsense, sorry. I'm an Orange County native. All of my immediate family (6 siblings and my dad) have moved out of state over the years. Five of them live in Washington.

Did brown people take their job in California? Nope.

Did brown people raise the price of housing in Orange County? Nope.

Did brown people move the university they wanted to attend to the East Coast? Nope.

Did brown people make the weather hot and dry, while they prefer cooler temperatures? No.....

You see how silly this is. "Brown people" didn't have a thing to do with it.

Maybe, but they are the largest voting block and their votes may have created the situations where leaving made sense. Nothing to do with racism, just who they vote for.

Just curious which race are you guys referring by "Brown People"? South Asian Brown? Or Arab Brown? Or Hispanic Brown? There are just too many shades of brown I guess...

I have came across many Hispanics and Arab in OC but not many South Asians.

I was also wondering if tanned "white" people are "Brown" when they get brown?

Well when I tan (After turning red several times and then learning to protect myself), I turn a very light brown, kinda a light gold as it were. This occurs finally by the end of Summer and then ... fades.

Typically in CA "Brown" refers to Hispanics.

Yes, even "Blacks" vary from white to dark brown as can "Whites".

Well, white people aren't even white. Most I've seen are on the peachy pink side. And the angry republicans are always "red". lol

It's not silly at all.
Living in around tons of brown people sucks compared to living around tons of peachy white folks. I'm a brown person, and I'll be the first to admit it.

Yes, brown means Hispanic. Everyone already knows that though.

Regardless of how wealthy you are, if you live in Orange County, there's a 95% you will be able to touch your neighbor's house from your own with a long yardstick. Some people, regardless of their annual household income, are just not OK with that. Different strokes for different folks.
