HOA's are run by Liberals who want to Conserve and control what they have and what others have as well.

And just like Liberals, they all voted yes to the CC&Rs w/o even reading it. Just like they did with the "revised" TrumpCare bill.

You mean like all the Democrats in congress did before ever even seeing the Obama Care bill, let alone reading and just believed that you could still go to the same doctor and your rates would not go up and .... well, yes they will vote for it and ... not read the CC&R's until too late.

I looked at a house in this HOA last year and am still sorry I didn't buy it. We hestitated, someone else snatched it up and flipped it. It is a beautiful community, the views of the ocean and mountains up there take my breath away. We had an interesting talk with a neighbor while we were there. She told us that the HOA is run by old men. She said a lot of younger people(meaning in their 40's & 50's) are buying there and things are changing. This was in Oct. 2016. Assault charges should hasten a change in management. Dues include maintenance of the swimming pool, clubhouse and as the OP mentioned, water & trash pickup. In my house hunting experiences, they are not excessive for a community in South Orange County with a pool.

yea that's actually not bad. I pay 320.00 in Orange w/o a clubhouse and I have to pay water/trash separately.
