I have been to Calexico and Mexicali when it was 116F outside middle of afternoon. I was actually walking around in both places. It really is not too bad especially in the shade. It is really just the sun burning you. The humid East is still much worse. You cant get away even in shade or at night, you still feel it. I left Calexico just as it was getting dark, and was quite comfortable actually.

Actually it has been mild these past few days. I was expecting more. Last year, the temp did not cool off in NYC until about Oct, which is weird.

Now it's windy, foggy and cool now. This weather is very unusual.

The synoptic scale pattern is definitely in Fall mode now all along the West Coast.

Dry cold fronts plus a few less dry ones are now coming through Nor Cal, only a matter of time before the rain line dips south.

NWS are prog'ing a few drops up in the North Bay from tomorrow's front.

FYI, from the Monterey office:

'DISCUSSION...as of 08:55 AM PDT Wednesday...A weak frontal boundary pushing southward across the region has resulted in some light rainfall over the North Bay, generally over Sonoma County with reports of a few hundredths of an inch or so. In addition, reports coming in of sprinkles and/or drizzle as far south as the San Francisco Bay Area. While light rainfall will be possible through the morning as the frontal boundary passes, do not anticipate widespread measurable precipitation. Clouds associated with this front may linger through a good portion of the day with clearing likely later tonight. Aside from a few minor updates to add sprinkles as far south as the Santa Cruz Mountains later this morning into early afternoon, the forecast largely remains on track.'

Summer came late this year and it seems to have ended early. Interesting.

So far, this has to be the coolest September we've had in at least a decade. But wait...

Yep, except for maybe 2 weeks this summer, it's been really nice! Even this week is not so bad. Hubby still wants central air, though, so getting our first quote...
