They have some insane amenities like:
  • 21 million dollar state of the art senior center in the middle of Central Park.
  • Great volunteer-runed van system that takes senior to shopping.
  • Organization called Council on Aging that offers meal and social services.

Does anyone have experience with senior services in Huntington Beach?

Why do they have such great amenities? Are the seniors (and now boomers) just super politically organized there?

Hi Joe. Are you asking if I am confused between LW and HB, or that I should consider LW?

I have indeed considered LW (and also it's sister community Leisure World). Unfortunately they don't quite work out (Woods is too hot and they both have income requirements my parents don't quite meet).

I know LW offers a lot more services than HB, though. But just in terms of a public city (instead of a private city), HB seems to offer quite a lot compared to other public cities.
