Hi All, I was at Huntington Dog Beach this morning and I forgot to pay the meter. When I got back to my car an hour later I found a citation. No problem dumb me forgot to pay the meter so I get it however when I got home I noticed that the citation incorrectly said my state of registration is VA (Virginia) Not correct I'm registered in CA. My question is, does this mistake invalidate my citation? If I don't pay it will they be able to accurately revise their mistake and find me? On the citation on the bottom it says PHOTO(s) TAKEN not sure if they bother to go back and check their photos or not. Anyone have this happen to them that can share some advice? Thanks!

I got a ticket for parking 18.0000000000001 inches away from the curb. On the ticket was some sort of code and a website. Go to the website and enter the code and you can see the photos online. It may take a day for the website to recognize the code. It took like 24 hours.

I have had a similar experience where the officer wrote the incorrect time, I was still home at the time written on the ticket and had witnesses. It didn't matter. According to the judge, the officer's mistake did not nullify the ticket, I signed it so I was there. Regardless of the time I was speeding.

If it is a non-handwritten, machine generated and printed citation, the V and the C are very close to each other when typing on the very small keyboards. I'm fairly confident it will be seen as a typo and will not void the cite.

Just pay the ticket and move on......

Many years ago, I was legally parked in a lot at Lido Village in newport....I worked at the Newport Sailing
club a few yards away.

Found a ticket on my windshield for not having up to date yearly registration tags/ sticker.
Well, I had paid and had installed the up to date sticker on my plate a few month previously.

some lout pulled my up to date annual sticker off my plate and afixed it to his flake mobile. I have no idea where or when this was done. I assembled all of my DMV paper work that showed that I had paid and received my replacement registration number, and paper work,, etc. And that the DMV had sent me another annual sticker for no charge.

I thought it would be a simple process. har..har...him dumb.

I went down to Newport Beach to show them what hand happened. I was directed to a huge audotorium with about 200 people waiting to go to a secluded back office and talk to the judge or who ever, in person. I Checked the amount of time that the individuals were back there pleading their cases. it was about 15 or so minutes per person. I was not going to be seen, until some time next year.

that was that, i went home and mailed in the $ 32.00 for the citation to the city of newport beach , and just kissed it off. The rest of the two hundred were still sitting there when I walked out the door.

Two suggestions,

1. Pay it, you are going to be spinning your wheels, and in the end , thru all of the mega hassels you are going to wind up paying anyway.

Or you dont pay it and it will go to warrent. Getting busted for a parking ticket really is not worth it.

2. Pay the cost of parking in the first place

I know you were in Huntington beach, I lived there for 12 years.......and my situation was in Newport......same attitude, different city.
