I was in Laguna Beach today where beaches were just reopened for all-day "active use." I noticed that at a certain well-known restaurant, staff was setting up and cleaning outdoor tables. Seems they think it likely they will be approved for reopening with outdoor seating, at least, pretty soon.

So dish the dirt, a good certain well-known restaurant or a bad certain well-known restaurant?
PS I don't get "active use" on the beach. So you mean I can walk or run, where I might encounter people doing so, but I can't be "inactive" as in sitting or lying where social distancing is easy to enact and enforce.

I think the restaurant has gone downhill, but it has a great view.
Not being able to sit on the sand doesn't make sense to me either. But if you stay away from Main Beach and get into one of the little coves where there is no lifeguard, you can sit on a towel and read a book without being bothered.

I’m in town to meet with my real estate agent. Me and some friends went to lag bch to picnic. I guess the beaches close there at noon because we went to a cove and the life guard told us to leave. Can’t wait to get back to Az.

Go to Laguna Beach (happy?) and try and walk on the beach after 12:00 and see how active you can be. The entire beach is closed at noon there.

It's open all day now. I was there on Thursday until 2 pm. Things keep reopening; it would be hard to keep up with what's going on from a distance.
I do have to say the frenetic activity of people anxious not to be thrown off the beach for daring to use it "passively" was not too relaxing.
