Just like that--the media directs our attention elsewhere.
They loose the narrative, reopening will cause COVID-19 cases to surge, we had like zero deaths in the last 3 days.

I too can’t stand him, he has milked the CV briefings too much.

Yes, I noticed that too. There was a spike over a week ago with about 24 deaths in three days. It was attributed to a couple of outbreaks in nursing homes but of course many people were wringing their hands and crying about exponential growth. Then the numbers went down again. I think there has actually been one death in the past three days but if we can't be happy about that, I don't know what we can be happy about.

Yes, I went out to eat and went to the beaches for the first time, it felt like a vacation for a change. A lot of customers said the same thing.

We went out to eat on Saturday and there were sure a lot of happy faces. I was half expecting the restaurant to be like a ghost town but it was not at all.

It was a rough day for nursing homes. There were 8 new deaths recorded in OC yesterday, and 7 of them were of nursing home residents.

The percentage of deaths that have occurred in nursing homes continues to go up, currently 44%. It was only 30% two weeks ago. At this rate, these facilities will soon account for 50% of deaths in Orange County or more.

Nursing homes are being paid big bucks By the state to take in Covid patients from hospitals. The convalescent hospital Sea Cliff in HB that my dad was a patient in last year being one them. No wonder numbers are so high in them.

Community pools are going to be opened, I don’t know why they aren’t.

Are they taking Medicaid patients, if that’s the case the state manages to kill 2 birds with one stone. More deaths in nursing home, less money they have to pay overall.
