First of the year shuttering due to underperformance. I'm not surprised, as my couple of experiences there were underwhelming, as far as the staff's attitudes go. And the parking sucked. Excellent coffee and pastries, I'll give them that.

I'm not a California regular any longer, but when I am in the state, Paris Baguette was one of my go to places. But I do remember the place not getting much traffic the times when I was there (which is why I liked it I suppose).

I agree the parking in front of the store is pretty packed, I usually parked behind the Thai restaurant and just walked the extra 30 yards.

Being a chain, there are other locations that are still around.

The Paris Baguette in East Costa Mesa closed maybe a year after it opened. My wife and I joked that they just didn't understand the region; there are so many boutique fitness gyms, juice shops, and health-minded eateries. This area is a afraid of carbs and we knew it wasn't going to last.

Carbs are good for you. The whole "low carb" diet is a dumb fad. You need carbs to get a good long workout, otherwise you'll hit glycogen deficiency, and feel like total crap.

I eat pastries when I want (not to the point of gluttony), and have visible abs, it's called a balanced life style.

Yes you are right. I figured it's more or less within reasonable driving distance to Aliso, if you liked it enough or got a large enough craving/nostalgia hit for it.
