Hi,

I was wondering if someone from Irvine or nearby would like to take a picture for me. I live on the other side of the planet so I can't do it myself.

It's on the intersection of Irvine Blvd and Culver Drive. There is a tree, planted in memory of Ashton Sweet who had her fatal accident there in 2011. If anyone could take a picture of the tree I would really appreciate it so much. I'm not in a hurry though.

Thank you so much in advance!

I live not too far from there. It's a crepe myrtle tree, right? We have them on our street and they are leafless and bare right now. They usually start blooming around May and become very beautiful. If you don't mind waiting I will make myself a note to go out there in a couple of months when the ones around here start blooming, to get a photo for you.

My aunt lives nearby and my cousins went to Northwood High with the poor victim. Very sad. I probably won't be in the are anytime soon, but I did see this photo from an LA Times article

Thank you both! It is real tragic.

I do however hope to get a "recent/current" picture of the tree/spot.

Oh, it's possible. Nothing stopping anyone from driving over there. But the crepe myrtles still aren't blooming (I'm looking out the window at one now .

I have, and you can see it. I just would like a recent and true picture of the tree since I can't visit it.

OK! Crepe myrtles are finally in full bloom and I may have a chance to take this photo today, if you still want it!
