I really like Javier's in Newport Coast. Its a great place to people watch (feels like an episode of the Real Housewives of OC), trendy atmosphere and very good food.

We don't really have places like this here in the Bay Area, so its fun for us to go when we're down in OC.

5 guys is such garbage and a complete ripoff. Habit is way better for the price and then if you want cheaper in n out is better than 5 guys.

I used to go to Marrakesh once or twice a year, but haven't been in a few years.

What is Don Jose's like off the 405 i Irvine? We never saw it as special but liked the food. My wife and I used to go there a lot quite sometime ago. Moved further South and haven't been there in a long time.

Marrakesh is closed, but there is a place named Casablanca in the location now. Coincidence? I think not.

If you mean the Don Jose's off the 405 & El Toro Rd, it is now Rodrigo's, as I believe all the old Don Jose's are. And it is as bad as ever.

Javier's was great when it was a hole-in-the-wall single location on Coast Hwy in downtown Laguna Beach. The expansion into foo-foo meant higher prices and smaller portions.

Still, the mole poblanos is outstanding (Chicken Mole)

I think that is it. OK, will avoid it.

Your poor wife. "In-n-Out???" That place has HORRIBLE food. Have you seen their "hamburgers" lately? An oreo cookie is bigger.
For "fast food," they take FOREVER.

For the cost, In-N-Out is the best burger. Others in the same space are McDonald's, Burger King, 5 Guys, Carl's Jr., Jack-in-the-Box and Wendy's.

The next tier up is Burger Lounge, The Counter, Smashburger, The Habit, and Umamiburger.
