Yes the two Jeffrey and Walnut shopping centers both have great Chinese. Not great, but solid is the Diamond Jamboree with its mix of Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese.
Culver Plaza has or had Tasty Noodle House. Great Shanghaied cuisine. Other Irvine strip malls are becoming increasingly Chinese or Korean. In the midst of this, there's still the deep mystery of how the Panda Express in Culver Plaza managed to survive.

Five Crowns is always a nice place to eat. But since I grew up in LA, Lawrys on La Cienega will always be my favorite. I loved going there as a kid with my family.

Even the Chinese folks want American food every now and again! I mean I can't/won't eat steak all the time.

LOL no worries on the hijack. Never been to Monty's so unable to say anything good/bad. But my childhood memories of that big beautiful silver cart coming down the aisle and the nice gentleman carving a nice big piece of prime rib will always place Lawry's up top for me. Those were good times with my family.

Monty's in Pasadena was our go to place for years after the Rose Bowl. There was also a Monty's in Westwood. I've only been to Monty's in Woodland Hills a couple of times, back in the 90's.

Then just go to a McDonalds, or a real American steakhouse, instead of fake Chinese Panda Express crap.

Does anyone still go to Marrakesh? 30 years ago that was my introduction to Moroccan cuisine and I couldn't get enough of it.
