Anybody with Anaheim history knowledge? Can you tell me the name of the gentleman in the picture wearing the glasses? This picture is from March 18, 1955 from the groundbreaking of the Disneyland Hotel. From left to right: Mayor Charles Pearson, Jack Wrather, C.V. Wood, unknown and Roy O. Disney. I have several pictures from this event and this gentleman is in a few....mostly with other Anaheim city officials. If you know, please let me know.

Sorry, I have no idea. (Though the more I look at it the more he seems vaguely familiar. But no names are popping into my head. It could just be that he looks like my 11th grade history teacher.) Anaheim city manager? President of the bank?

I assume you've checked with the downtown library and museum? Anaheim was such a small town then and everyone knew everyone. There was a real 'old boy's network'. If you talk to the old geezers they might know. Is Jack Lindquist still alive? I'd try and ask him.

Everything I saw refers to "members of the Wrather family" and there most have been another ceremony on that same day with one of the wives.

He resembles Dennis the Menace's Dad. The actor not the comic strip.

Other than that, no eye deer.

That "one of the wives" was Bonita Granville who was married to Jack Wrather. She was a well-known and very successful actress. She was also what passed for Anaheim royalty when Wrather was building the Disneyland hotel. Meaning she was a pretty big deal in her own right. An appearance by her had all the housewives all-a-flutter. (And a few of the husbands.)

I've never seen a triple-handle shovel. It bugs me, and I don't know why.
