I rent a furnished room and private bathroom with kitchen and laundry priviledges to a man who has disappeared. His employer received a call on on Tuesday from some woman who said he was in the hospital. But nothing since. My attempts to reach him by leaving a message on his cell phone have gone unanswered. His rent was due on the 1st of the month still does not respond to my messages or his employer's. What should I do? I depend on the income renting a room affords. N...

P.S. He has been missing for 7 days as of today.

If you haven't already, try calling the local area hospitals and see if they can help in any way. What about emergency contact numbers from his employer?

I would definitely start looking for another roomate. Do you still have his security deposit in a savings account? If so that should tide you over until you can get another roomate. I wouldn't spend too much time trying to find him. If he really was injured he would have let you know by now. It seems to me he has just bailed. Good luck! Make a post on Craigslist, that is a great place to attract potential roomates.
