Hello All,
I just recently moved to Huntington Beach from New Jersey and was wondering if any bars in the area have a poker league similar to a dart league. It is very common where I'm from but I can't seem to find anything like that around here. I appreciate the help.

there are no poker leagues here as far as i know, at least any at a public establishment. gambling is heavily regulated and limited to the casinos we have, of which there are quite a few(commerce, hustler, hollywood park, hawaiian gardens, bicycle club, etc etc)

There are card rooms in LA county that are legally allowed. The closest to HB is Hawaiian Gardens. Around a 20 minute non rush hour drive from HB. Commerce casino is the largest poker room in the world and is about a 25-30 minute non rush hour drive from HB. Go to Commerce on a weeknight just to check it out when its not busy. Then go on a weekend night for ultimate gambool.

Check out Poker Strategy - Two Plus Two Poker & Gaming Strategy Brick and Mortar forum. Do a search on Commerce and another on Hawaiian Gardens for more info.

Yep I know about hawaiian Gardens and just about every other card club which is an Indian casino but if your from the east coast you would know that a league is totally different and that's what he's asking for a poker league and I've only found one so far which is barjoe2pokerpro hopefully it will expand like the east coast worldtarvernpoker league. People play for free for points and have a chance to win a seat in wpt or wsop seat for free, usually players that play in the leagues don't frequent casinos at all which is a way to bring them to a casino during a sponsered event, I love these leagues and they don't hurt the casinos. So hopefully they will expand throughout California

A poker league is a much better than a idian casino just because of the social aspect and making new friends that meet up 2 or more times a week at your favorite bar or bowling alley and it's totally free, I'd love to go back to the east coast just for that reason. When you play in a casino it's just not the same lol
