Spoken like a true dye-in-the-wool Republican!!

I grew up mostly in Irvine, and I made it out as a democrat. To put it in the words of my best friend, who still lives in OC, and who is of Middle Eastern descent, "Oh V., you don't own any property, just wait until you do, then you'll vote Republican, too." I chide her now that the administration she voted for wants to bomb her home country next (Iran). Of course, I still don't own any property.

V. =)

The Republican's base of power is in the suburban areas, especially the new fringe exurban areas.

If I'm not mistaken, Orange County is the biggest suburban county in the country. That's why the GOP does so well there.

Sure. When they're not busy supporting a barely literate ex-alcoholic who uses the U.S. Armed Forces as his own private tool of revenge against people who "tried to kill his daddy"..

Actually, Bush's drinking habits didn't bother me as much as his "Born Again" status to get the Christian Right's vote.

I'd much rather have an alcoholic president than a liar.

You're in luck then. Because we currently have both rolled into one.
Plus, we get the bonus package;

-A torturer.
-An enemy of the Constitution.
-A war criminal.
-An illiterate.
-A religious zealot (or at least a make-believe one).
-A mass murderer.
-A sell-out to corporate corruption and cronyism.

AS for 'liar', I really don't understand how you can compare lying about having sex with lying about a country having WMD's just as a lame excuse to get even with another murderous bastard from the competition's side.

I hope you don't think I'm a Bush supporter...

I really wasn't too worried when he got elected, figuring he'd only last four years... lucky for him circumstances have kept him in office.

I mean heck, he almost lost an election to arguably the most liberal, stiff, out-of-touch Senator in the U.S. How often does that happen?

I definitely like the next election's line-up much better than those that ran against Bush last time... if Kerry was the best they could come up with, then it's time to look somewhere else.
