Why is Orange County still Republican? Because last I checked, it's still filled with lots of rich people.

I think the correct term might be "shank."

"they will never shank orange county"

I dunno. Maybe "steel" sounds better.

No, actually wealth has little to do with it. For example, many affluent areas are very liberal and heavily Democratic. The true reason is that many OC citizens still think for themselves, do not rely on government for their needs, and still believe in the rule of Constitutional law.

This thread has been going for over a year now. Do you suppose the OP even checks anymore? I have enjoyed many of happ's posts, but this seems semi-trollish, as if who POTUS is has anything to do with other people's political affiliations.

I think it's less about the rich people, more about the fundie megachurches.

Are they a cause or a symptom? Before they existed the county was still very conservative.

BRAVO! The problem with the left is that sooner or later, you run out of other people's money to spend. Perhaps that's why we are as bankrupt as any "liberal" (AKA: radical) state, like Michigan and Illinois.

The left never admits that their ideas are wrong. They say that we just need to try harder, pass another law and throw some more money at it.

Yeah Bush never threw any money at anything, LOL.

Only difference is the right throws money at the rich and the left tries to equalize things. Whatever happened to having a middle class in this country? It is becoming more and more the haves and the have nots.
