I'm wondering when people were paying 650,000 or more for a 3/1 in Huntington Beach, what would it have rented for? I'm trying to plot out buying versus renting...afraid that when the market rises again (I know not for a couple of years) I could be out of the rental market too . So, I'm trying to double-up on my down payment savings fast!

Yeah that sounds about right. I was going to say about $2500/mo. And that would be for a 40 year old 3/1 several miles from the beach.

Okay, so about what they are now.... I was wondering if people were really getting 5,000 or 6,000 a month rent. OUCH, and impossible for me :-). Thank you!

ive seen houses in the 4k+ range in seal beach, huntington harbor, etc, but you're talking major nice homes, not 3/1.5 70's ranch house
