The area I'm thinking of is somewhere on this trolley map..

Somewhere in the north I think. It had wide streets, older 50's/60's motels, and the souvenir shops...reminded me of Anaheim. The area around Disneyland.

But most of the city seemed modern.

And here's the upside down museum on international drive. How long has that been there?

I lived in Orlando for about 15 years, and it always drove me a little crazy that visitors thought I-Drive/Disney/Kissimmee area is what Orlando is like. I totally understand though, easy mistake to make when you are not from the area.

While I lived there for a long time, I find the weather in FL from about May until late Oct to be almost unbearable. It is a little better on the coast because of the breeze I suppose, but still, its so hot and humid, if feels like you are walking in syrup.

I have a question for anyone here that knows Central Florida and Orange County. When I'm done with law school, I'm taking a job in Irvine. I am looking for a Winter Park-ish (nice neighborhoods, lots of trees, good restaurants/shops) type area in Orange County. Does such an area exist? I live in Atlanta now and love it, so for anyone familiar with Atlanta and Orange County can chime in too. Thanks.
