So Dean Grose, Mayor of Los Alamitos sends a racist email "No Easter egg hunt at the White House this year" with a image of a field of watermelons on the White House lawn.

Makes me wonder...is it a non-issue? Or is it something that most people in OC would rather not discuss because it brings up the issues of OC being racist?

Don't worry he didn't mean to offend anyone, it wasn't supposed to get emailed to any non-whites...
No one this stupid should be a mayor.

Watermelons At The Whitehouse And Republican Racism

Put another √ on the OC Racism list...

Dean Grose the Mayor of Los Alamitos sent out an e-mail entitled No Easter Egg Hunt At The White House This Year. Yep us coloured folk sure do loves us some watermelon. I am surprised he didn’t have chickens running through the watermelon patch to complete the picture. This story might never have been made public had the e-mail not been received by Keyanus Price. She was rightfully offended and demanded a public apology.

This idiot should be given serious consequences. He claims he didn't know that he stated something racial? Come on now! Of all the fruits & vegetable he could have said, he picks watermelons!

Oh well.

I remember all the people who cropped Bush's face to look like a monkey. We just need to get over it and hope his intentions weren't negative.

With the state of the economy, there's bigger fish to fry.

Exactly... it's not like someone important sent the email. The mayor of Los Al could be caught cooking meth in his kitchen then selling it to 4th graders and it would barely be a blip on the news radar.

I'm sure on a slow news day this would be plastered across the headlines, and inevitably most people outside SoCal would wonder where the hell Los Alamitos is, and why they should care about its idiot mayor?

Its all in poor taste, but I'm not at all surprised by racism anymore after the last campaign/election.

meh, people make insensitive jokes all the time(and not just white people). racial/cultural jokes depend on context and who you joke with. the guy does a good job in the city and hasnt had any other instances ive seen, so ill chalk it up to sending an insensitive joke to the wrong person.

im not a bush fan, but as others have mentioned it wasnt an issue when people made fun of bush comparing him to a monkey or made fun of him being a country texan.

people need some thicker skin
