Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the recommendations on Hotels in an earlier post. But Now I am thinking of staying in Newport Beach so I can be close to the airport, shopping (fashion Island) and getting my hair done.
Are there any Newport Beach hotels you would recommend. I am going solo this time so I don't need a luxury hotel but a nice one in the $200.00 a night range give or take. Oh ya, a oceanfront or oceanview one would be nice. So Any Newport Beach ones you can recommend would be great!
Thanks!

There's a bunch of high rise hotels at Fashion Island. I'm sure some of the rooms must have a view. I've never stayed at any of them. On the Coast Highway there's the Balboa Bay Club which is quite nice, but probably a bit more than $200 for oceanfront.

I've stayed at the Hyatt on Jamboree which was very nice and if I remember correctly under $200/night.

Red face Fashion Island Hotels

You could consider staying at the Marriott(at Fashion Island). Rooms overlook a golf course and are walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Some rooms have "glimpses" of the ocean.. Prices start around $200ish.

Also consider:
The Fairmount
Hyatt Regency
Marriott Bayview

hope u will enjoy ur trip ,don't forget to go to Balboa Island

if I may add the Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana point ,though it's south from where you wanna stay but a lil bit more reasonable room rates than the ones in Newport .

Casa Laguna Inn in Laguna Beach has rooms with ocean view and you might find something within $200/night ,just check their room types and prices, the hotel has like 10 room types to choose from .

Thank You Guys for all the great suggestions!

After researching all these hotels (they all seem real nice) and some did not have availability for the days I will be staying (It looks like mid April is a busy time for the OC area) I booked it with Laguna Cliffs Mariott in Dana Point.

Thanks Again

OK, I am back staying in Newport Beach @ the Hyatt Regency. LOL
I found out when making my hair appointment at JTipton that it would take me about 45 minutes to get there (if there was traffic) from Dana Point? So I canceled those reservations at the Laguna Cliffs and made new ones at the Hyatt. So confusing I know. But the Hyatt is also closer to the airport and Fashion Island (shopping ).

Thanks Again!

The Four Seasons and the Newport Marriott are right across from Fashion Island, restaurants. You could walk if you wanted to Balboa Island and check that out, or it would be a very short car ride. Also a Hyatt on Jamboree not far from these things either, but certainly not as convenient to Fashion Island.

Thanks for the suggestions but I tried both Hotels. The Newport Marriott is fully booked up and the Four Seasons Island Hotel only has a "executive suite" available for over $500.00 a night so that one is out also. But thank you for the suggestions.

the hyatt regency provides a courtesy bus to fashion island, balboa island (the walk to balboa is only 1-mile) and john wayne airport...

you should also ask for a room with a view over back bay as the sunsets are gorgeous...
