Which are the preferred neighborhoods in Newport Beach and why? Are any of these neighborhoods at an elevation more than 35 ft. above sea level?

It depends what your preferences are...
Active social life, college-aged people - Balboa Peninsula
Opposite preference - More inland

Corona del Mar - goes up the hill on the east side of PCH.

Preffered because it is a truly residentail area does'nt have the tourist rental houses like the pennisula.

Thanks, OC Investor2. Could you tell me what the boundaries of the Corona del Mar residential neighborhood are, in addition to PCH?

This is my guesstimate, But I think the officail 4 boundries are West: Ocean, South: Poppy Ave North: Avacado Ave, East: 4th ave.

Personally I think "CDM" also includes the Irvine terrace area just to the west of PCH & north of Avacodo. I would also expand the boundry to everything south of Mcaurther, west of the toll road and around Margaurette & spyglass hill. Technically these areas are'nt CDM, but the demographics/attitudes are the same.
