I don't think it's the "whitewashed" ones with the problem; from what I've seen, it's the relatively new immigrants that harbor more anti-black racism than the 2nd generation.

Did you ever consider that they may be staring at you because you are a "hot looking black woman?"

Default racism

No OC is not the worst city for that. Try Oakland, Sacramento, and there are
more but I just cant name them all.

Well once this old white lady in Irvine starbucks was chatting with my white husband lamenting all the yellow people that have taken over the town. OC is plenty racist. Huntington Beach I'm sure has some pockets of neo racism. However -- you can *never* assume by the way people look (i.e. shaved head, many tattoos, Doc Martins) that they are racist.

However, count all the Asian racists, Eastern European racists, Middle Eastern racists, and Hispanic racists, and you have a bunch of racism in all directions.

Its not racism, its classism.

Its the whites, Middle Easterners, Blacks, Indians, Chinese, and Koreans (aka the rich) versus the Latinos, Vietnamese, and Filipinos (aka the poor).

I don't see anti-black racism. Whites and Asians around here have heavily adopted many aspects of hip-hop culture, so they're pretty much "honorary whites" around here and mix freely amongst the aforementioned "rich". All twelve of them.

I can't believe someone would want a topic locked just because it didn't fit their narrow definition of appropriate.

Just move on.

Yeah I don't get it.

"I don't like something because it insults my delicate sensibilities! Get rid of it!"

Okay, calm down Napoleon.

Disagree about it needing to be locked, OC definitely needs many channels of discussion in this domain.

The absurdly trolling and alarmist title justifies locking this thread. Start a new one with some rationality.

I was just at Irvine Spectrum this past weekend and lost count of the races and colors, and everyone's having a good time. I see interracial couples everywhere.

How do you measure the racism of a county? First you have to define racism and then what makes up a racist act. Then you have to gather statistics and start comparing the data.
