I want to abolish schoolboards as part of the solution to our education problems. If this article is true, this is another reason to do so.

Again, if this is true, the poor parents of some of those kids who live near downtown Fullerton are kinda screwed.

And what would you replace these democratically elected school boards with.... a fascist dictator?

Better the parents pay than the taxpayers.

Maybe it is corruption, or maybe there is a logical explanation. If OC Weekly had an ounce of journalistic skill they would ask the school board and district to explain their rationale. I wouldn't get worked up over a news item that OC Weekly was too lazy to research.

If parents are going to send their children to a school that promotes itself as a place that specializes in science and technology, then they need to expect to foot some of the bill. Better the parents than the taxpayers.
