fullerton has a great gym and pool if you're the athletic type. you could easily kill 2 or 3 hours working out, running laps, climbing the stairs in the stadium, swimming laps, etc... other than that, you could keep up with your reading in the library or a local coffee shop (there some cool ones in downtown fullerton). the brea mall is nearby. downtown disney is too touristy and i don't think parking is free. i really can't think of anything else and i lived in the area for 4 years while i was attending csuf.

My first choices would be the library or a workout on campus. Career center or one of the computer centers on campus would be additional places.

There are movie theaters on Birch Street in Brea, down the street from the mall. Interesting shops in downtown Fullerton. My favorites are Out of Vogue and OTTO, which deal with retro household items and clothes. If you wanted to volunteer, there are senior centers and libraries nearby in both Brea and Fullerton. There are some good thrift stores in the area. And most of the public libraries have used book stores.

Thanks! Of course, there's not any ONE place where one can kill the whole 8 or 9 hrs, so I'm sure I'll be at my library for a few of those hrs. i'm definitely bringing my laptop on that day!

Cal State Fullerton has a nice arboretum if you like plants. Great place to walk around. Nice places to sit.
