OC is the most yuppie place in the USA. I cannot stand the attitude and the culture of OC. Rich, pompus, pretentious people masquerading everywhere. An uptight, agro vibe everywhere you go. Truely the most loathsome and selfish specimans of humanity live in this area.

You know yuppie means young urban professional, right? Last I checked you're looking in the wrong county for that. Maybe you should direct your hatred toward the various gentrified districts in LA instead.

OK then, instead of yuppies, perhaps I should have said "Rude, snobby, obnoxious, materialistic, greedy people" of all ages. That would have been a bit more accurate.

And then I would say that you will find that everywhere. It's pretty obvious you've never been outside of the newly developed areas in South OC

To me Orange County doesn't seem any more materialistic than any other affluent suburban areas in the United States. In fact in some aspects it seems that Orange County is a place for people who are well grounded. I saw an article a couple years ago that mentioned Orange County as having one of the highest rates of charitable giving. The article also mentioned that San Francisco City & County had one of the lowest rates of charitable giving, so I don't know how you can say that Orange County stands out as overly greedy or overly pretentious.

It's just the attitude and way people in the OC carry themselves, speak and treat others. It is incredibly pompus, rude and elitist. Everything abut the way the act shows this kind of attitude.

If they give a lot to charity and are actually kind people, it sure does not show in the way they act in public.
