Can anyone give me some recommendations on some bars i might want to check out for new-years in the Newport Beach-Costa mesa area. I have a buddy coming in from out of town and want to hit up some decent parties that will be going down at local establishments.

Thanks,

Las Vegas is nto too far away.

Keep in mind, that unless they changed the law, Newport BEach does not allow dancing in places that serve liquor. I was in a bar on new years eve one year and they kicked everyone out at 11:55 and closed the bar because people were dancing. Needless to say we were all pretty P.O.ed.

Most of the people who usually party in Newport Beach, aka regulars, are going to a huge NYE event at the Hilton Hotel in Costa Mesa (by South Coast Plaza). It's not a bar, but just a suggestion. You do have to buy a ticket to attend ($60 a pop), but it's huge and it goes on until 5am.
