We are researching family-friendly apartments in Orange County. We have two children and are looking for a safe, clean and quiet place to live. I read many horror stories about loud parties, poor management, etc. when I go on to the apartment rating web sites. Does anyone have any good experiences with specific apartments they can share, especially in northern OC? Please let me know. Price is not an issue. Most important to us is that our kids are safe and our neighbors are respectful. Thanks.

there are thousands upon thousands of apartment buildings in OC, you'll have to narrow it down a bit more than that. as for loud parties, stay away from the universities and you should be fine.

Thanks. Good point about staying away from the universities. How about the north Fullerton area? This is a good central point for us in terms of commuting to work, etc.

Los Alamitos is a great start. Apartment Row is a nice family area, full of kids, and prices are reasonable, and the schools are excellent.

As far as Fullerton, unsure, but you're talking large gated complexes, so you'll have to research which ones have kids if that's what you're looking for.

Pretty much any city in north Orange County will have what you are looking for somewhere within its borders, one way or the other.

Fullerton has dozens and dozens of apartment complexes. I've lived in a couple and have been near many, many others.

My last had excellent management, even though the neighborhood was not considered by some to be the best (on the border of an industrial area, near train tracks, but also near a bunch of other apartment buildings.) My ex-landlady has DEEP roots in the city; seeing a picture of the Fullerton skyline circa 1920, I saw it had a picture of her family's name on one of the buildings downtown (they had some sort of jewelry shop).

The point is to find out as much as possible about from whom you would be renting. And don't be scared off by how an area looks at first blush; you may get a gem out of what looks to be cracked asphalt.

If price is not an issue, why are you looking at apartments?
