Hi All,
I have read many posts on this forum and am happy to see all the good advice people have for others. I am hoping I that someone can help me with my question and share some insight with me.

I relocated here when I got a new job and am looking to purchase a house in the neighborhood that is bordered by Goldenwest, Gorthard, Edinger, and Heil. I have read some positives and negatives to the 92647 zip code, but surely those comments cannot be applied to the entire zip code. It is quite large. Does anyone have any thoughts about this neighborhood in terms of investment quality? Safety? Is being so close to the college a positive or a negative?

Thanks for your help.

MM

My friend I dont live in HB but have spent a lot of time there and absolutely love it. If I were you I would be thankful you are able to move and have a carreer there. That is just my personal opinion. A lot of people like to talk bad about HB but i love the place. Close to long beach, bordering newport, its a good location. Again just my opinion.

It all depends on what you are looking for...

H.B can be known as a party town...if you want a more quiet place, you could always buy in seal beach, which is another awesome area...

There's nothing wrong with that neighborhood as far as I know. Its far enough from the college that you shouldn't get any overflow parking.

Its true that most of the trashy areas of HB are located in 92647 but the zip code is big enough that you can live in an $800k house in that zip and not be close to any trashy apartments at all. Go look at the median home prices and incomes for 92647 and you'll find they're in line with HB's other 3 zips.

Thanks so much for your reply! I appreciate your feedback. I have done a lot of homework on the area and have also driven through the many neighborhoods too. I am glad to see that someone has confirmed my impressions. One always has to do due diligence before a large purchase like this one...Thanks..
