Why do some people chose to live in places like Newport Beach over more interesting places like Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, Malibu, Bel Air?

I don't understand. Newport Beach is just dreadfully boring, un-chic and too homogenous. Very unfabulous and place compared to the more glamorous parts of L.A.

Some people prefer quiet and boring. I don't live in Newport Beach but you couldn't pay me to live in LA.

People just have preferences of what suits them.I happen to like both L.A and O.C....both of these places have so much to offer.

If I could afford it,I would have homes in many different parts of Southern CA.

I was in LA this weekend, and, oh my god, what a filthy, dirty, ugly, nasty dump of a place it is! Newport Beach by contrast is a beautiful Heaven on earth. Newport is also quite a bit friendlier.

Newport beach has an easier way of life. In LA, traffic is absolute killer. I'd agree that LA has much more beautiful places like those you've mentioned, but the real estate is probably cheaper in NB and the water is cleaner.
